Food: £55–£90/week. The intern trap is lunch: £8–£12 daily near any office district is £50/week on its own. The fix is boring and works — cook four evenings, bring lunch three days, keep two social meals guilt-free. Shared kitchens make batch-cooking with flatmates both cheaper and more fun.
Social: £30–£60/week. Pints are £6.50–£8, cinema £12–£15 — but London's best intern currency is free: parks, markets, galleries, and the office social calendar someone else is paying for. Say yes to those first.
